Smart Finance Skills for Modern Business Owners

Running a business means making dozens of money decisions every week. We teach practical finance approaches that actually work in the messy reality of daily operations—not just theory from textbooks.

Our September 2025 program starts with real scenarios you'll face: cash flow timing, pricing decisions, and understanding what those numbers really mean for your business.

How Your Learning Actually Works

We've built this around what business owners told us they needed—less lecture, more practical application with people who get it.

1

Start With Your Reality

Bring your actual business questions. Week one, we map out where you are financially—no judgment, just honest assessment. Most people discover they're doing better than they thought in some areas.

2

Build Working Systems

You'll develop processes that fit how you work. Some people love spreadsheets, others prefer visual dashboards. We help you build what you'll actually use after the program ends.

3

Practice With Peers

Every session includes group work with other business owners. You'll spot patterns in each other's numbers and share approaches that worked. The network you build here often matters as much as the content.

What You'll Focus On During Six Months

This isn't about becoming an accountant. It's about understanding your numbers well enough to make confident decisions quickly.

We cover pricing strategy more deeply than most programs because that's where small changes create big differences. You'll also spend time on cash flow forecasting—the thing that keeps business owners up at night.

  • Reading financial statements without getting overwhelmed by details
  • Setting prices that reflect real costs and market positioning
  • Building cash flow buffers that let you sleep better
  • Knowing when to invest in growth versus staying steady
  • Communicating financial plans to partners or investors clearly

Common Questions Before Starting

People ask similar things before joining. Here's what usually comes up in initial conversations.

Do I need accounting experience?

Not at all. We start with basics and build from there. If you can read a bank statement, you're ready. Most participants have never taken a finance course.

How much time does this actually take?

Plan for four hours weekly—two in live sessions, two on your own work. It's manageable alongside running a business because the homework involves your actual business tasks.

What if I miss a session?

Everything's recorded and you can catch up. But the live discussions are where the real learning happens, so we recommend showing up when possible.

Will this help with business planning?

Yes, financial literacy makes planning much easier. You'll finish with clearer understanding of what's realistic for your business over the next year or two.
